Some companies produce lights designed to be hung in dry, areas such as artificial trees or décor, while others are crafted to be used in wetter, harder to reach places. Lights hung outdoors also require special weatherproofing to prevent them from being damaged by rain and other elements. The popularity of Christmas lights has grown in recent years, with decorations becoming more and more elaborate. From elaborate light displays mimicking a garden of twinkling stars to whimsical decorations such as Santa and his reindeer, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Some towns and cities even form a Christmas Light Competition, with winners being rewarded with a certificate for their exceptional display. Christmas lights bring a sparkle and joy to offices, homes and gardens throughout the festive season.
