Night Lights is an artwork installation by Canadian artist Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garrett, located in Calgary, Canada. The work consists of over 5,000 recycled light bulbs, suspended in the air and arranged in various shapes of cubes, spirals, and curves. Each light bulb is lit to create a dazzling effect against the dark night sky.
The artists created the lights in collaboration with the local community. They encouraged people to donate their used incandescent and florescent lights. Working in teams, different community members coordinated different parts of the project, from gathering and sorting the balls to designing patterns and patterns. Even the actual wiring and lighting had to be done!
The bulbs were then hung with the help of cranes and placed in various patterns to create a truly unique art installation. The lightbulbs all contain individual LED lights and use renewable energy. Each of them was lit up by solar power during the night, creating a mesmerizing dance of light in the darkness.
The installation was meant to be a symbol of hope to the people of Calgary. It serves as a reminder that re-using and repurposing items can work together in harmony to create something unexpected and beautiful. The light displays presence in the darkness is not only visually stunning but also serves as a reminder that with the right amount of innovation and community effort, anything can be created.
