Night Lights are a type of artificial light that are switched on during the night and used to bring illumination to otherwise dark and potentially dangerous areas. During the night, natural light sources, such as the sun, are not available and so night lights provide a necessary safety net for those who are out and about or who are simply too frightened, weary, or lazy to get out of bed. In most cities, you can find night lights mounted outside buildings at street level on poles or walls and acting as mini beacons to show people the way. They are used to light up doorways, alleyways, and public areas. They can also be a deterrent to crime and vandalism, as they can suitably light up an area, which in the dark might seem more inviting for a criminal act. Night lights can also prove invaluable to the visually impaired, or those with impaired vision, enabling them to easily find their way in a darkened street. Recent technological advancements in the night light sector means that they now come in many shapes and sizes, and even play different colours. This can be especially helpful for those who are sensitive to light or who find certain hues more calming. So, night lights definitely have a role to play in making our lives easier ‒ whether it's for safety, for aesthetic reasons, or simply for helping us to find our way around.
